hi i want to start a band. I don't know many people outside of school but there are some good ones in school i've sent out bulletins in the past but have never got a reaction. HELP!

Hi, i'm in a band too. I had the same problem where I knew not many people who could play an instrument well. I conquered it by basically waiting , having patiance. I sent out posters around the city and anyone to call if they were interested. eventually I got a few calls and here I am now giging in the boardwalk.

my son and his friends found band members through 'myspace' and school friends. i would suggest looking there first, and post a sign in local music stores. for one of the bands, check out www.myspace.com/lighterfluidxx

first of all, good luck.

you could always try the paper. though mostly older people check the paper for bandmates. and while you may be talented, its hard to get kids into bars to play shows. so they probably wont be looking for someone still in HS. internet web boards are also a good place to start. lots of younger people check those and most local scenes have a website out there, if you look hard enough. craigs list is another great place to start.

i think your best bet is to keep trying in school. i dont know how old you are, but keep in mind being in a band requires travel. so i hope you have a car or understanding and supportive parents.
