I notice that in western civilization we are conditioned by the news agencies to ignore conspiracy theories. And yet conspiracy theories are often far more consistent than corporate news bulletins. At least they have a case that they want you to study. Conspiracies in this modern world are quite common. For example, every war is directed from top secret locations. That is a conspiracy of a kind. Every official report comes from largely unaccountable sources with very little comeback. Rarely is a news item looked at from both sides in the same depth etc. In some ways the media corporations are just exaggerating things anyway. That's a conspiracy of a kind. So I give credit to conspiracy theorists, especially if they are well researched.

What about all the investigative journalism over the years that, yes, may produce good documentary TV, but has also helped to put criminals behind bars, as well as free others who have been wrongly accused. Would those be considered conspiracy theories, because they either reject the official judgement, or reject the witness statements of so called "experts"?

For example, the 50 year rule, whereby classified information can be revealed after an event often confirms what some truth seeking group may have have always asserted, despite being refuted by the government at the time. We must always ask questions, read between the lines and keep an open mind. Don't blindly accept the spoon fed official line as the single only truth. They can and do lie. "Experts" are drawn upon to support anything the authorities want you to believe. Those who hold power will do all in their power to retain it.

The press in the UK have by and large become the conspirators in many cases. What is often sad is that there is no level playing field what is good for the goose is often not for the gander.

When the present government was first elected they could do no wrong as it was for the Thatcher government but as time wears on and the gaffs and cover ups mount up the press ten goes into lynch mode and anything will be blown out of proportion or invented. For the public it is difficult to decipher the news from the stories.

No doubt this is not new but maybe we so much more media these days that it just seems to have escalated.

The problem with a lot of conspiracy theories is that they are either very poorly documented or not documented at all.

In a "proper" news story, there are supposed to be attributions, people are meant to stand behind their quotes. There are usually checks and balances in the major news agencies like The New York Times, the Associated Press, CBS... (for example, more than one person sees the story before publication, there are fact-checkers...)

In an ideal world, journalists are supposed to be the link between the event and the reader/viewer, reporting the facts and nothing but the facts (unless the reportage is otherwise labelled news analysis or some such). But even journalists are only human and as such, susceptible to the same failings as other people (conspiracy theorists included!) -- ego, prejudices and the like.

To get as clear as possible a picture of an event, I will look at several presentations of the same story -- print, television, radio. Even then, I often try to READ BETWEEN THE LINES.

To think that all the major media is controlled by a single source is an example of a fallacious conspiracy theory.

It made for a great movie with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts, but I think many conspiracy theories are exactly that -- entertainment (of a sort) and nothing more!

This is what I've seen and noticed. Guys act tough and manly around their buddies and sweet around their girls because guys are trying to adapt to the situation. Guys really want to act sweet and kind, but they also don't want to hassle around by the guys they know. Most of the time, a group of rowdy guys will always make light of guys who act sensitive to people, it's just that way. More than likely, the guys are not embarass of the girls they're with, but they just can't be seen being sensitive and mushy. It's an unwritten law among men. Hope this helps.

No they are not embarassed by you. If they were then they would not be sweet to you at all. If they are in public with you then I am sure they are still sweet as long as no one they know is around.

Some guys have this thing with keeping up an image that their girl can not/will not change who they are. They do this so that they will not have to deal with their friends saying "You are not the same person you use to be" or "I liked you better before you met her". It is actually a complex thing that your man will have to work out before he is totally and 100% into you.

It takes time but you do not have to sit and wait for it. Just point it out to him (in private) so that he realizes he is doing it.

I am a Christian and I am a nurse. My faith is much stronger in my day to day life. I attend church but I struggle with the organized religion overstepping their boundaries. As a nurse I am bound by Hippa laws to protect my patients. Church people are always prying and asking questions that are not of their concern. They publish personal info in church bulletins about personal health matters of patients. How can I get through to them and make them stay within their boundaries without offending them?

Well as a nurse myself and a Christian I would say that they are not bound by client confidentiality code of professional conduct or whatever nor is any Islamic group athist group or Liberal group as we are they would argue that they need to allow some information out so as people can pray,visit, help etc.

on the question of organized religion yes ime with you on that one. being a christian is about having a relationship with God himself although this is expressed by felloshipping with our brothers and sisters as well. It might be as well to talk to your pastor preist call hime/her what you like to discuss this matter though if personal detail that are inapropriate are being shared

They have no right to the information and if they are offended by that fact, that's their problem. If you coddle them, they won't go away.

Sometimes just a subtle question to them is enough. A teacher at school where I work knew that an 8th grader was pregnant -- she went to her prayer group and told them all so that they could pray for her. I said, "You TOLD them all she was pregnant?" She was embarrassed, and that was all I needed to say.

Unless the patients protest to it being published it may not be your concern. As long you stay within your privacy laws what they do isn't your concern. Sometimes it makes the patient feel more cared about and it's been proven that prayer does make a difference in the recovery.

I'm not sure what your referring to. If its just an announcement that someone is sick or hurt I don't see the problem. There may be a problem with a "day to day" faith or a faith that comes first over ones faith in Christ who says that if one loves any one or any thing more than Him they are unworthy of Him. If someone asks personal info beyond what is right just say it is personal or confidential info politely and leave it at that.

Just tell them that it is the personal business of the patients, and that they would not appreciate their information being revealed to the public. Let them know that their concern is appreciated, but that they may be going about it the wrong way. You just have to be polite, but straightforward.

Should I break up with her?

I hang out with my gf every day (and call at least twice)... but I never really feel connected to her. I love french kisses we have but other than that I dont think about her very much.

Unfortunately in some myspace bulletins she hints she loves me(I know for sure that she likes me very much)... She is REALLY emotional...and I think she would be really sad if I break up with her.... any advice/suggestions? Should I break up with her?

If you're honestly not feeling it, just break up with her, because it's going to be better for both of you in the long run. You may hurt her, yes.. but if you stay with her for longer and break up with her later she's going to be even more crushed then she would now. And you're going to feel even worse and it's going to get harder for you to do it as well.

One thing you can do to maybe make it alittle easier, is start hinting it towards her instead of just laying it on her right away. Stop hanging out with her as much, don't call her or stay on the phone as much.. don't be rude about it though. That way it will be easier for her to let go.

If you don't feel a connection with her then end it. You're wasting your guys' time if there's nothing there. You can't just date someone for the lust/physical connection forever, after a while, the mental connection takes over.

Do not ever stay with anyone for their benefit. You have to look out for yourself-and since you do not think you have a connection it's best to break up. Especially b/c she will become more attached-and if she does the breakup will only be that much more hard on her.

This guys who is now my ex-bf hangs with this chick that is supposed be just a friend.More then he did with me.I told him that she started posting bulletins about the things i was saying to him and was starting to hurt our relationship but he wouldn't stop talking to her.I dumped him a couple days ago and now hes begging me to come back.He says he sorry,he loves me,and misses me in his arms but he avoids the subject of her do i believe him and get back with him or stay single?? You should stay single. Its pretty obvious that your nothing more to him than just a trophy for him to carry around just for the hell of it. Since he spends more time with another girl than he does with you proves that he just can't stand spending too much time with you and discuss any relationship problems you have with each other. Which means any decent future with him is just wishful thinking.

On of my good friends, who i hang out with alot has been going out with a girl that i knew, but never mentioned it at all. He posted bulletins about a girl that he liked, but he never said her name to me. We all go to this Taekwon-do dojam and there is a tournament and the girl asked if i wanted to join her, ed, and another friend named chris for a team activity. She mentioned that her and ed were kind like friends, so i got real curious, so i looked at her myspace and it turns out she was the girl my friend edd liked, because there was a picture of the two of them cuddling. First of all, why did my friend keep this from me, and why was she the one to ask me to join their group, and why did she say that he was kind of like a friend, instead of just saying it, she shouldnt know to say that enless she knew Edd didnt tell me, right?
